Dear Friend ,

Our Valentine's Day "Sharing the Love" food distribution was a tremendous success! We served hundreds of families with fresh milk and eggs. As a reminder, our food distributions have always been free to the public and require no qualifications.

Thank you to Gaddafi Ismail of De Lune Corp, my good friends at United Community, and the volunteers who made the event possible.

Watch the video below to see a short video recap.
Also, please join Congressman Gerry Connolly, Prince William County Potomac District Supervisor Andrea Bailey, and me tomorrow (Friday) at 11am for a virtual Community Conversation on 2022 legislative priorities and how they impact the Black community.

From disparities in healthcare, education, and business, to criminal justice reform and voting rights, there are several systemic obstacles the Black community faces. We hope that through this conversation we can hear about issues important to you in order to better advocate for the Black community in Congress.

Please contact my office if we can assist you:

Supervisor Lusk in the News

Lee District Supervisor Rodney Lusk joined De Lune Corp and United Community for the food distribution at three locations on Monday, Feb. 14. Volunteers will give away free eggs, milk and pulses to over 1,000 families.

"Since the pandemic started, I made it a priority for my staff to work with Fairfax County government agencies, local non-profits, and Lee District residents to organize food distributions across our community," said Lusk in a statement. "I am proud that through our collective efforts, we distributed over three million pounds of food and supplies to residents in need."

Fairfax County Public Library Staff Excellence Award
The third annual FCPL Staff Excellence Awards are here! Staff at the Fairfax County Public Library have done it all during the pandemic-providing direct public service in branches, supporting community health efforts, pivoting to virtual services and much more. Show them some love by nominating individual employees for a Staff Excellence award. The Library Board of Trustees sponsors this program which has annually garnered more than 100 nominations for the wonderful people who work in our libraries. Nominations can be submitted online or in person between February 14th and February 28th. The Library Board will recognize winners at their March 9th virtual board meeting. You can find our more information online at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/library or reach out to library staff directly at wwwlib@fairfaxcounty.gov
